Vikram Vedha box office collection: Hrithik-starrer struggles to touch Rs 75-cr mark

Mumbai, Oct 12: Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan-starrer 'Vikram Vedha', which was released with huge expectations on September 30, has turned out to be a below-par performer at the worldwide box office. Despite two big names in the cast, the Hindi flick is struggling to touch Rs 75-crore mark at the domestic box office.

In fact, 'Vikram Vedha' has been declared as a theatrical flop by a section of trade trackers. It is because the Hindi movie has not able to cross a decent number even though the action thriller did not face competition from any other film in its core territories.

The early estimation coming from trade indicate that 'Vikram Vedha' has earned around Rs 72 crore in 12 days.

The Hindi movie has estimated to have earned a little over Rs 18 crore in the Mumbai circuit, while raking in around Rs 12.50 crore from the Delhi and UP regions. In the East Punjab and Andhra regions, the Hrithik-starrer collected Rs 5.4 crore and Rs 4.13 crore, respectively.

The disappointing part of the story is that the flick has managed to collect less than Rs 10 crore in South India.

'Vikram Vedha', which had collected around Rs 11 crore on the first day, had earned around Rs 37 crore in the first weekend. However, the collection did not witness major growth thereafter even though there were holidays and people usually like to watch films in theatres.

The movie is a remake of a blockbuster Tamil movie of the same name. Vijay Sethupathi and Madhavan had starred in the original.
