Three Arrested For Illegally Entering Mumbai From Kuwait By Boat
The Mumbai police arrested three persons for unlawfully entering India, a day subsequent to their arrival in the city via a boat from Kuwait, as per an official statement.
The boat carrying the trio was docked at the Gateway of India on Tuesday. Initially, no suspicious items were discovered on the vessel, the official mentioned.

The three individuals are natives of Tamil Nadu.
Following the discovery of the boat, the Colaba police registered a case against them, stated the official.
"They were detained by the police under section 3 (a) along with penal section 6 (a) of the Passport (Entry into India) Rules for failure to adhere to the necessary procedures for entry into India," he elaborated.

As per the official, the trio had migrated to Kuwait for employment two years prior. Allegedly, they faced mistreatment by their agent who facilitated their journey to Kuwait, prompting their escape from the country.
The matter is currently under further investigation, he confirmed.
The incident has sparked concerns regarding potential gaps in maritime security.
It's worth noting that in November 2008, ten Pakistani terrorists who carried out a terror attack in Mumbai had arrived via the sea route. The terror assault resulted in the loss of 166 lives and left over 300 individuals wounded.
