Jewellery heist case: Police press MCOCA
Thane, Nov 11: Thane police have invoked the provisions of the stringent Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act against four persons, accused of robbing a jewellery shop at Wada in the district in July this year.

On July 2, the accused looted Swaraj Jewellers at Wada at gun point, decamping with booty worth Rs 10 lakh. Police arrested Prakash Kadav (32), Jelu Vasunia (32), Dinesh Sakania Charel (35), Ramesh Bijariya Parmar (25).

The Jhabua gang was suspected to be involved in dacoities.

Others are yet to be arrested. Barring Kadav, others are from tribal Jhabua district of Madhya Pradesh.

Deputy Superintendent of Police, Ganeshpuri, Srinivas Ghatge told PTI that the conspiracy was hatched in Adharwadi Jail of Kalyan.

The Jhabua gang was suspected to be involved in dacoities in Shirur, Dhule, Bahur (Jalgaon), Randhwa (MP) and also in Gujarat.
