Tata Mumbai Marathon 2025: Road Closures From 5 AM To 2 PM; Check Alternative Routes Inside
The highly anticipated Tata Mumbai Marathon 2025 is set to take place on Sunday, January 19, and will result in traffic diversions across key areas of Greater Mumbai. The marathon, which features seven categories of runs, will occur between 5:00 AM and 2:00 PM, prompting road closures and alternate traffic routes during this period.
Authorities have assured that arrangements will be in place to ensure uninterrupted movement for essential services and emergency vehicles throughout the event.
Tata Mumbai Marathon 2025: Route And Areas Affected
The marathon route will cover prominent locations in South and Central Mumbai, starting at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT). Key roads affected include Veer Nariman Road, Madam Cama Road, the Worli Sea Link, Bandra, and Mahim. To facilitate the runners, traffic on these roads will be diverted to nearby alternative routes.

Full Marathon (Amateurs - 42.195 km)
Start: 5:00 AM at CSMT
End: 12:30 PM at OCS Junction
Route: CSMT → Marine Drive → Worli Sea Link → Bandra → Mahim Church.
Full Marathon (Elite - 42.195 km)
Start: 7:20 AM at CSMT
End: 10:50 AM
Route: Similar to amateurs, with additional detours through Churchgate and extra loops along major roads.
Half Marathon and Police Cup (21 km)
Start: 5:00 AM at Mahim
End: 9:10 AM
Route: Mahim → Worli Sea Link → Bandra → South Mumbai intersections.
10K Run (10 km)
Start: 6:00 AM at CSMT
End: 7:58 AM
Route: CSMT → Churchgate → Marine Drive.
Champions with Disability Run (1.3 km)
Start: 7:22 AM
End: 8:05 AM
Route: Dr. D.N. Road → Hutatma Chowk → Veer Nariman Road → OCS Junction.
Senior Citizens Run (4.2 km)
Start: 7:35 AM at CSMT
End: 9:05 AM
Route: CSMT → N.S. Road → Jagannath Shankar Seth Marg → Metro Junction.
Dream Run (5.9 km)
Start: 8:15 AM

Route: CSMT → NCPA → Girgaum Road → Princess Flyover.
Traffic Management Plan
To minimise disruption, the following alternative routes are suggested:
South to North Mumbai: Use Shahid Bhagat Singh Marg, P.D. Mello Road, and routes through Bandra-Kurla Complex.
North to South Mumbai: Use the Western Express Highway and recommended connecting roads.
