Take A Look At Proposed Redesign Of Solapur Railway Station

The Ministry of Railways on Monday shared the proposed design of Maharashtra's to-be redeveloped Solapur Railway Station.

"Imbuing Modern Outlook: The proposed design of Maharashtra's to-be redeveloped Solapur Railway Station," the Indian Railways tweeted.

As part of the comprehensive Amrit Bharat Stations initiative, a total of 44 railway stations within Maharashtra are slated for redevelopment. This endeavour encompasses notable stations in Mumbai, specifically Parel, Vikhroli, and Kanjurmarg. Particularly, Kanjurmarg railway station has been earmarked for an extensive revamp, a commendable undertaking with an estimated expenditure of Rs 21.01 crore, as per the government's statement.

The 15 stations of Solapur division that have been chosen under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme are Solapur, Pandharpur, Kurdwadi, Kopargaon, Ahmednagar, Daund, Osmanabad, Latur, Kalburgi, Shahbad, Wadi, Jeur, Belapur, Gangapur and Dudhani.

As part of the scheme, 508 railway stations will be redeveloped into world class ones across India, including 44 in Maharashtra.

The redevelopment will involve making stations as 'city centres" with amenities like roof plaza, shopping zone, food court, segregated entry and exits, multi level parking, escalators etc.
