Stalked on Facebook, 14-year-old Mumbai girl commits suicide

, Nov 20: A teenage girl reportedly committed

after she was allegedly stalked on

by a teenage boy here. The tragic incident happened on Tuesday.

The 14-year-old girl took the extreme step after feeling humiliated by the continuous stalking by a boy who allegedly posted explicit material on her page in the popular social networking site. The girl, a student of Class IX, was a resident of Kandivali West. Her parents informed the police after discovering her body hanging in her room.

The police were accused of not taking the complaint against the boy

The girl's family alleged that the 16-year-old boy was posting obscene messages on her Facebook page for the past few days and also accused the police of not taking any interest in the case after the girl's father sought to lodge a complaint against the boy. They said the police had asked the girl's father to return without filing any complaint.

Sources in the police, however, said that they had identified the boy although he was not arrested till the latest reports came in.
