Sanjay Nirupam goes one step ahead of AAP, threatens to self-immolate

Mumbai, Jan 25: Looks like the AAP winds are blowing strong in Maharastra. Following the footsteps of Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, Congress MP Sanjay Nirupam too taken the indefinite strike route, demanding that the power tariffs in Mumbai be reduced.

But what is surprising is that he has gone a step further and threatened to self-immolate in front of Anil Ambani's residence. "If Anil Ambani doesn't act after my protest fast, then I will self-immolate outside his house," Nirupam said.

Nirupam began his hunger strike in front of Reliance Energy Divisional Office to demand a reduction in the power tariff in Mumbai. Nirupam had earlier alleged that Reliance and Maharastra Electricity Regulatory Commission were hand in glove with each other.

Taking an example of the Delhi government, Nirupam had earlier said that if the Delhi government could reduce the tariffs, why the same couldn't be implemented in Maharastra.
