Sanjay Dutt given 14-days extended parole citing medical reasons
Dutt, who is serving his five-year sentence in the Yerwada jail after being convicted in the 1993 Mumbai blasts, was granted additional 14-days leave citing medical reasons. He was to return to jail on October 15.
Dutt is serving 42 months of five year sentence
According to reports, Dutt suffers from Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD) due to which he is having difficulty in walking.
Dutt was granted parole on October 1 after he constantly complained of leg pain. He had then said that he wanted to spend some time with his family as well and would return back once his treatment was over.
Dutt, who had surrendered in May after the Supreme Court's confirmation of his conviction in the 1993 Mumbai blasts for illegal possession of weapons, is serving the remaining 42 months of his five-year sentence.
