Saif Ali Khan Health Update: Actor Out Of Danger After Surgery; Police Suspects Insider Job In The Attack

Saif Ali Khan, who was allegedly attacked by a robber at his home in Bandra in the wee hours of Thursday, is out of danger, his team said in a statement.

The actor was rushed to Lilavati Hospital following the incident. He has successfully undergone surgery and the doctors are treating him.

On the health condition of Actor Saif Ali Khan, Dr Nitin Dange of Lilavati Hospital says," Saif Ali Khan was admitted to the hospital at 2 am with alleged history of assault by some unknown person. He sustained a major injury to the thoracic spinal cord due to a lodged knife in the spine. A surgery was performed to remove the knife and repair leaking spinal fluid. Two other deep wounds on his left hand and one other on his neck were repaired by the plastic surgery team. He is completely stable now. He is recovering well and out of danger now."

The statement from his team has also given a health update stating, "Saif Ali Khan has come out of surgery and is out of danger. He is currently in recovery and the doctors are monitoring his progress. All family members are safe and the police is investigating the incident..."

6 Wounds From Sharp Objects, One Close To Spine

Lilavati Hospital, where Khan was rushed post-incident, disclosed that a foreign object was detected near the actor's spine, amplifying concerns over his condition.

Dr. Niraj Uttamani, Chief Operating Officer at Lilavati Hospital, detailed the actor's injuries and the urgent care he received upon arrival. "Saif Ali Khan was attacked by an unidentified person at his house. He was brought in at 3:00 am by the caretaker. He has six wounds from sharp objects like knives etc., of which two wounds are deep and one close to his spine.

A small piece of foreign body close to the spine is identified," Uttamani explained. The hospital also revealed that Khan is under the care of a team of specialists, including Dr. Nitin Dange, a Consultant Neurosurgeon, and several others, emphasizing the critical nature of his injuries.

The incident unfolded at the 'Satguru Sharan' building, Khan's residence, where the assailant initially engaged in a confrontation with the actor's maid. Khan's attempt to mediate escalated into a physical altercation, leading to his injuries. The Mumbai Police, spearheaded by Deputy Commissioner Dixit Gedam, is diligently investigating the circumstances surrounding the attack, with the Crime Branch officials promptly arriving at the scene to gather evidence.

Investigation Begins

"An unidentified person intruded in the residence of Actor Saif Ali Khan. The actor and the intruder had a scuffle. The actor is injured and is being treated. Investigation is going on," the police said.

As per the reports, the CCTV has not captured anybody entering the premises before or after the attack. Hence, it is now the cops are suspecting an insider's hand in the incident.
