Saif Ali Khan Attacked By Robber At His Mumbai House; Bollywood Actor Undergoing Surgery At Mumbai Hospital

Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was attacked by a robber in his Bandra (west) home in Mumbai. The incident occurred around 2:30 am on Thursday when a thief allegedly broke into his residence and stabbed him multiple times.

Going by the reports in the Hindi media, one of the injuries is near his spine. The assailant fled the scene after the attack, and police are actively searching for him.

Khan was quickly taken to Lilavati Hospital following the attack. Initially, it was unclear whether he was stabbed or hurt during a struggle with the intruder. A police officer mentioned that both local police and the Mumbai crime branch are investigating the incident to uncover more details.

How Is Saif Ali Khan's Condition After The Attack?

Speaking to Hindustan Times, Niraj Uttamani, chief operating officer at Lilavati Hospital, confirmed Khan's admission at 3:30 am with six injuries, two of which are severe. "One of the injuries is closer to his spine," said Uttamani. Neurosurgeon Nitin Dange, cosmetic surgeon Leena Jain, and anaesthetist Nisha Gandhi are performing surgery on Khan to assess the damage.

In a statement, the police said, "An unidentified person intruded in the residence of Actor Saif Ali Khan. The actor and the intruder had a scuffle. The actor is injured and is being treated. Investigation is going on."

Authorities are piecing together evidence from the crime scene while ensuring Khan receives necessary medical care. The investigation aims to determine how the intruder gained access to Khan's residence and any potential motives behind this violent act.

On the health condition of Actor Saif Ali Khan, Dr Niraj Uttamani, COO of Lilavati Hospital says "Saif Ali Khan was attacked by an unidentified person at his house. He has six wounds from sharp objects like knife etc. of which two wounds are deep and one close to his spine. A small piece of foreign body close to the spine is identified. He is currently undergoing surgery under Dr Nitin Dange, Consultant Neurosurgeon, Dr Leena Jain,Consultant Plastic Surgeon, Dr Nisha Gandhi,Consultant Anaesthesiologist, Dr Kavita Srinivas,Intensivist, Dr Manoj Deshmukh Consultant Radiologist. The extent of the damage will be understood once the surgery is completed."
