Raj Thackeray hits out at Narendra Modi, says he must quit as Guj CM

Thackeray: Modi should resign as CM
Mumbai, Jan 9: MNS chief Raj Thackeray on Thursday hit out at BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi and said that the Gujarat CM 'should have resigned as the CM the day he was announced as the prime ministerial candidate.'

Thackeray said: "If you want to be the PM, then leave the CM post. Don't just talk of Gujarat but the whole nation."

He went on to say that 'you come to Maharastra and speak about Sardar Patel's statue. Why don't you talk about Shivaji Maharaj.'

Reacting to this the BJP said that 'there was no question of Modi resigning as CM.' "Narendra Modi is wise enough to decide what to do and has always spoken about India and not just Gujarat," Devendra Fadnavis from BJP said.

Thackeray earlier was a supporter for Modi and even bid for him as the PM but their equations changed when Modi compared Maharastra's and Gujarat's development.
