Pune–Nagpur Vande Bharat Express To Stop At Shegaon, Connecting Pilgrims Faster — Details Inside

The Pune-Nagpur Vande Bharat Express is set to bring added convenience to thousands of devotees with a newly approved halt at Shegaon in Buldhana district, popularly known as the Pandhari of Vidarbha. The official inauguration of this updated service is scheduled for August 10, 2025, following persistent efforts by Union Minister of State for Ayush and Family Welfare Prataprao Jadhav and his discussions with Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav.

According to a circular issued by the Railway Department, the Shegaon stop will be included in the Nagpur-Pune Vande Bharat Express route, enhancing connectivity for passengers traveling to the renowned Sant Gajanan Maharaj Sansthan. Devotees from across the country frequently visit Shegaon, making this halt a significant addition to the high-speed service.

The Vande Bharat Express, developed under the Government of India's initiative to modernize domestic rail travel, has become a major attraction for passengers thanks to its state-of-the-art amenities and reduced travel time. The Pune-Nagpur route, covering 884 km in just 10 hours, connects key cities such as Ajni, Nagpur, Wardha, Badnera, Akola, Bhusawal, Jalgaon, Manmad, Kopargaon, Ahilyanagar, and Daund. With the addition of Shegaon, passenger convenience-particularly for pilgrims-will see a major boost.

Under the new timetable, the Nagpur-Pune Vande Bharat Express will run six days a week. It will depart Nagpur at 9:50 am, reach Shegaon by 1:20 pm via Wardha, Badnera, and Akola, and continue towards Pune. On the return journey from Pune, the train will halt at Shegaon at 2:45 pm before proceeding to Nagpur.

Minister Prataprao Jadhav personally advocated for this stop, highlighting the spiritual and cultural importance of Shegaon to the Railway Minister. His successful efforts have now ensured that pilgrims to Sant Gajanan Maharaj Sansthan can enjoy faster, more comfortable travel on one of India's most advanced trains.

With this addition, the Vande Bharat Express not only strengthens railway connectivity in Maharashtra but also reinforces the government's commitment to improving infrastructure that serves both tourism and religious travel.
