Pune BMW Driver’s Public Urination Controversy Apologizes and Surrenders

Pune BMW driver Gaurav Ahuja, who sparked controversy after a video of him urinating in public went viral, has apologized and surrendered to the police. In a social media video, Ahuja admitted his mistake and urged the public not to trouble his family.

In the video, Ahuja folded his hands and said, "What I did was very wrong. I apologize to the public, the police, and Shinde Saheb. Please give me a chance. I'm sorry. Don't trouble my family. I will surrender at the Yerwada police station within the next eight hours." The mention of Shinde Saheb is believed to refer to Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.

Following his public apology, Ahuja surrendered to the Pune police and was taken into custody. Another man, Bhagyesh Oswal, who was seen drinking in the car in the viral video, was also arrested. Oswal was apprehended around 11 PM on Saturday, while Ahuja surrendered in Karad before being taken for a medical check-up on Sunday morning.

A case has been registered against both men under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Motor Vehicles Act, including charges of public nuisance, rash and negligent driving, and endangering public safety.

The incident occurred on Saturday morning in Pune's Shastrinagar area, Yerawada. Ahuja, driving a luxury BMW, stopped his car in the middle of the road, stepped out, and relieved himself in public. An eyewitness recorded the act and shared the video on social media, triggering massive backlash.

Now in police custody, Ahuja faces legal consequences as his reckless actions continue to draw criticism.
