Police officer tries committing suicide, sets himself ablaze

The Additional Director General of Police, RK Sahay, on Sunday tried to committ suicide by setting himself ablaze at this apartment.
He had received 55 to 65 per cent brun injuries and his condition was said to be critical, according to the doctors at the Bombay Hospital, where he was admitted.
"He has received about 55 to 65 per cent flame burns, with the large component of inhalational burns, which happens due to inhaling of smoke in a closed space. There are a lot of facial burns too and breathing passage burns along with intensive lung injury," doctors at the hospital said.
The reason behind this extreme step is not known yet.
Sahay was admitted to the hospital, by his wife and daughter. He had last month, submitted a report against his former chief at the Maharastra State Road Transport Corporation, Deepak Kappor, citing irregularities in the agency's functioning under him.
On the basis of his report, the state anti-corruption bureau had launched investigations against Mr Kapoor.
