Key Alliances In Maharashtra

In Maharashtra, two main alliances are competing against each other:

Mahayuti: This alliance includes the BJP, Shiv Sena (led by Eknath Shinde), and NCP (led by Ajit Pawar).
Mahavikas Aghadi: This coalition consists of the Congress, NCP (led by Sharad Pawar), and Shiv Sena (led by Uddhav Thackeray).

The Battle For Maharashtra

The Mahayuti alliance, currently in power under Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, is facing the challenge of overcoming anti-incumbency sentiments. Retaining voter support and staying in power will not be an easy task for them. On the other hand, the Mahavikas Aghadi is determined to oust the current government, but the contest is expected to be tough for them as well.

The Road To Victory

Maharashtra has a total of 288 assembly seats. To form a government, an alliance needs to secure at least 145 seats. Currently, the BJP-Shiv Sena-NCP (Ajit Pawar) alliance is in power, led by Eknath Shinde. However, no single party is expected to achieve a clear majority on its own in this election.

Phalodi Satta Bazar's Prediction

According to the Phalodi Satta Bazar, the BJP-led Mahayuti alliance is likely to secure between 144 to 152 seats out of the total 288. This suggests a narrow lead, indicating that the Mahayuti might just make a comeback in the state. However, the Mahavikas Aghadi alliance is also expected to put up a strong fight, making it a closely contested election.

The final outcome will only be known on 23 November 2024 when the votes are counted, and the results are declared.
