New AC Bus Services Begin In Navi Mumbai: Nerul And Kharghar To Mantralaya Via Atal Setu; Full Details Inside

The Navi Mumbai Municipal Transport Corporation (NMMT) has launched two new air-conditioned (AC) super-fast bus services. These services, introduced on Thursday, will connect key locations in Navi Mumbai with Mantralaya, the seat of Maharashtra's government. The buses will operate on two routes: one from Nerul to Mantralaya, and the other from Kharghar to Mantralaya, both travelling via the Atal Setu bridge.

Routes, Timings, And Fares

Bus route number 116 will run from Nerul (East) bus station to Mantralaya, passing through Ulwe and the Shivajinagar toll gate. Route number 117 will serve passengers travelling between Kharghar Sector 35 and Mantralaya, with stops at Panvel, Palaspe, and the Gavan toll gate.

The journey time from Nerul to Mantralaya is expected to take around 95 to 100 minutes, while the Kharghar to Mantralaya trip will last 100 to 115 minutes. The fare for the Nerul-Mantralaya route has been set at ₹230, and passengers on the Kharghar-Mantralaya route will be charged Rs 270.

Service Timings

According to the Times of India (TOI), the first bus on route 116 will leave Nerul bus stand at 7:55 AM. From Mantralaya, buses will depart at 9:45 AM for Kharkopar railway station, with another service leaving at 5:20 PM. The return journey from Mantralaya to Nerul will leave at 6:25 PM.

For route 117, the Kharghar to Mantralaya service will start at 7:40 AM, and the return service from Mantralaya will depart at 6:15 PM.

Future Plans

NMMT is encouraging passengers to use the new services to justify an increase in frequency. As per TOI, similar services, including BEST's Chalo buses and MSRTC's Shivneri electric buses, are already operating on the Atal Setu.
