Mumbai Weather Forecast: Dust, Thunder, And Rain May Return Next Week
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has said that no extreme changes in Mumbai's weather are expected at the moment. The city is currently experiencing mainly clear skies and warm temperatures. However, the weather may change next week, with a chance of rain from April 10 onward.
According to the IMD, the sky will remain mostly clear over the next few days. Daytime temperatures are expected to hover between 36 and 37 degrees Celsius, while nighttime temperatures will stay around 26 to 27 degrees Celsius.
From April 10, there may be a shift in weather conditions. The sky is likely to become partly cloudy, with the possibility of light rain. During this time, the maximum temperature is expected to drop slightly to around 34 degrees Celsius, and the minimum could fall to nearly 24 degrees Celsius. This change may bring some relief from the current heat.
Dust Storm Hits Mumbai
On Friday evening, a sudden dust storm swept across Mumbai and Thane, surprising many residents. Strong winds carried thick dust clouds, leading to low visibility across several parts of the city. This unexpected weather event caused traffic to come to a standstill and disrupted local train services.
Several people took to the social media platform X, formerly Twitter to share their experiences. Many complained about difficulty in breathing due to the dusty air, while others shared visuals of roads and buildings barely visible in the storm.
Following the dust storm, some areas also experienced thunderstorms and rainfall, adding to the disruption. The weather department later stated that the sky would remain partly cloudy, with a chance of moderate rain or a thunderstorm.
In the coming days, the highest temperature may reach up to 38 degrees Celsius, while the lowest may dip to around 21 degrees Celsius. People are advised to stay alert and follow updates from official weather sources.
