Mumbai Water Supply Cut For 24 Hours: Check Dates, Timings & Areas Affected by BMC Maintenance Disruption

Residents in parts of Mumbai will face a 24-hour water supply disruption as the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) carries out planned pipeline maintenance in Goregaon (East). The temporary shutdown will affect several neighbourhoods in the P East and P South wards.

According to civic officials, water supply will be suspended from 9 am on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, and services are expected to resume by 9 am on Wednesday, March 11 once the maintenance work is completed.

Why the water supply will be shut

The shutdown is linked to connection work on a diverted 750 mm diameter water pipeline located along the approach road to the flyover on Dadasaheb Phalke Chitranagari Road in Goregaon (East).

During the 24-hour period, some areas will experience no water supply, while others will receive water for limited hours or with reduced pressure.

Areas and revised supply timings

To help residents manage their water needs, the BMC has announced revised supply timings for affected neighbourhoods.

In P East Ward, residents of the Shivshahi Project will receive water between 11:45 pm and 5:45 am with regular pressure. Meanwhile, Shrikrishna Nagar and the Indira Gandhi Research Institute area will have water supply between 3:30 am and 9:00 am.

In P South Ward, areas such as Satellite Tower, Santosh Nagar, Mali Nagar, Hable Pada, Umarshet Pada, Nagarmode Pada, Sunil Maidan and stretches along Film City Road will receive water between 12 midnight and 3:00 am.

However, residents along Mohan Gokhale Road, Krishna Vatika Road, Sai Marg and Arya Bhaskar Road will receive water during the same time window but at low pressure, the civic body said.

Residents advised to store water in advance

BMC officials have urged residents in the affected areas to store adequate water in advance and use it carefully during the shutdown period.

Authorities also warned that after the supply resumes, tap water may appear muddy for a short time due to the pipeline work. Residents have been advised to boil water before drinking or cooking until the water clears.

Work aimed at improving pipeline infrastructure

The civic body said the temporary disruption is necessary to complete the pipeline connection safely and avoid larger issues in the future.

Once the work is completed, officials expect improved stability in water distribution across parts of Goregaon (East). Residents are encouraged to follow the revised timings and plan their water usage accordingly during the maintenance period.
