Get ready for travel changes on the Central Railway line. A crucial 15-day maintenance project begins on September 26th, which will affect both local and long-distance train schedules. The work is part of a yard remodeling project at Karjat station, the Indian Express reported.

Here's a breakdown of the major disruptions:

Daily Line Closure (Sept 27 - Sept 30)

From Saturday, September 27th, to Tuesday, September 30th, a five-hour traffic block will be in place daily between 11:20 AM and 4:20 PM on the Panvel line near Karjat.

Key Impact:

No local train service will be available between Karjat and Khopoli during this block period.

For Saturday, Sunday, and Monday (Sept 27, 28, 29):

Cancelled Local Trains (Karjat ↔ Khopoli):

From Karjat at: 12:00 PM, 1:15 PM, 3:39 PM

From Khopoli at: 11:20 AM, 12:40 PM, 2:55 PM

Short-Terminated/Originated Trains:

The 12:20 PM CSMT-Khopoli train will end its journey at Karjat.

The 1:48 PM Khopoli-CSMT train will instead start from Karjat.

Sunday, Sept 28: The Gwalior-Daund Express (22194) will be diverted and will make an additional stop at Kalyan for passengers from Panvel.

Tuesday, Sept 30: Several express trains will depart hours later than scheduled, including the Coimbatore-LTT, Chennai-LTT, and Pune-Hazrat Nizamuddin Duronto Express.

The railway administration has stated that details for further disruptions from October 1st to October 10th will be announced later."Details of repercussions of further blocks and train running from 01.10.2025 to 10.10.2025 due to the same will be shared sunsequently. These maintenance mega blocks are essential for infrastructure upkeep and safety. Passengers are requested to bear with the Railway Administration for the inconvenience caused," the website quoted Dr. Swapnil Nila, Chief Public Relations Officer, Central Railway, as stating.
