Mumbai Rain Advisory: Lakes Overflow, Trees Uprooted, Andheri Subway Shut

The heavy rains, accompanied by wind speeds up to 60 km/h, caused significant disruptions across Mumbai. Vihar Lake, one of the key reservoirs supplying water to the city, overflowed early this morning, following similar incidents at Tulsi and Tansa lakes on previous days. Waterlogging led to multiple bus route diversions, including those for Route No. A-186, 460, and 489, which were rerouted due to the floods, as reported by ANI.

In addition, the Andheri Subway has been closed to vehicular traffic due to severe waterlogging. The closure has further exacerbated the traffic situation in the city. A tree fall near Matoshree Bungalow caused additional disruptions, affecting several bus routes such as 215, 316, 317, 87, 11, and 255, which have been redirected via the Western Express Highway up to Kherwadi junction.

Authorities are closely monitoring the situation and advising residents to stay informed about weather updates, as reported by Times Of India.

The Mumbai civic body, BMC, is actively managing the situation and providing regular updates through their official channels. Citizens are urged to exercise caution and stay tuned to local advisories to ensure their safety.
