Mumbai Police Respond To Threat Call Against Prime Minister Modi: Security Measures Heightened
Mumbai Police is currently investigating a threat call made to their traffic control room on Thursday, claiming an assassination plot against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The caller, identified as a woman, is being sought by the authorities, with a case already filed at the Amboli police station in Mumbai. This incident adds to a growing list of threat-related cases that the city's police force is handling, highlighting the ongoing challenges in ensuring public and political figure safety.
Interestingly, this is not the first time the Mumbai Police has encountered such a threat. In July of the previous year, a similar warning was issued, targeting not only Prime Minister Modi but also Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The anonymous caller then had ominously threatened to execute a "26/11-like attack" in the nation, invoking memories of one of the most devastating terrorist attacks in India's history. These recurring threats underscore the persistent risk and the heightened alertness required by law enforcement agencies.

This month, Shiv Sena's Haryana in-charge, Vikram Singh, reported receiving a threatening call from an individual claiming to be part of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The caller, introducing himself as Rohit Godara, reached out via a WhatsApp call from a UK-based number, demanding a share of Singh's business. This incident, filed with the cyber police, further emphasizes the broader issue of threat calls and extortion attempts faced by public figures and politicians.
The police are proceeding with caution in the case concerning the threat against Prime Minister Modi. Initially, there are indications that the woman who made the call might be suffering from mental health issues. Despite this, the police are taking no chances and are following all standard investigative protocols to ensure public safety. Their efforts to track down the suspect are ongoing, highlighting their commitment to security and law enforcement.
In response to the bomb threat received by Mumbai airport, security measures have been significantly tightened, and an extensive investigation is underway. This move comes as a part of a broader strategy to enhance public safety and mitigate any potential threats. The police's proactive approach in such cases reflects their dedication to maintaining peace and order.
