Mumbai Police Grilled Shubham Lonkar, Baba Siddique Murder Suspect, In Shooting Outside Salman's House Too

Shubham Lonkar is a suspect in the murder of Baba Siddique, with links to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Security measures around Salman Khan's residence have been heightened amid ongoing investigations.

The Mumbai Police are on the hunt for Shubham Lonkar, a suspect in the murder of former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique. Shubham and his brother Pravin are believed to be central figures in this case. The incident occurred last week in Bandra, Mumbai. Shubham had previously been questioned regarding an April shooting outside actor Salman Khan's residence but was released due to insufficient evidence.

Pravin Lonkar was apprehended in Pune on Sunday evening, while Shubham remains at large. The police have officially linked the Lawrence Bishnoi gang to Siddique's murder, using the Lonkar brothers' names in court. This marks the first formal acknowledgment of the gang's involvement in the killing.

Salman Khan

Key Figures and Allegations

Shubham Lonkar is suspected of being a significant member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. After the shooting incident at Salman Khan's Galaxy Apartments, several interrogated individuals mentioned his name. He was accused of providing refuge to suspects but was released due to lack of evidence.

The police have identified Dharamraj Kashyap and Shiv Kumar Gautam as shooters recruited by Shubham and Pravin for Siddique's murder. A Facebook post allegedly from Shubham's account claimed responsibility for the crime on behalf of the Bishnoi gang.

Motives Behind the Murder

The Facebook post suggested that Siddique was targeted due to alleged connections with Dawood Ibrahim, India's most wanted terrorist, and close ties with Salman Khan. It also mentioned Anuj Thapan's death, a suspect in the shooting outside Khan's house, who died under suspicious circumstances while in police custody.

Anuj Thapan was found dead on May 1 inside a Mumbai Crime Branch lock-up. While police reported it as a suicide, Thapan's family alleged he was tortured during custody. This incident has added another layer of complexity to Siddique's murder investigation.

Security Measures Intensified

Following these developments, security around Salman Khan's Bandra home and Panvel farmhouse has been increased. The Facebook post warned those associated with Khan or Dawood Ibrahim to "keep your accounts in order," indicating potential threats.

"We do not have any enmity with anyone but whoever helps Salman Khan and the Dawood gang, keep your accounts in order ('hisab-kitaab kar lena')," stated Lonkar in Hindi on Facebook. Authorities are currently verifying the authenticity of this message.

This case continues to unfold with new revelations about potential motives and connections between various parties involved. As investigations proceed, authorities remain vigilant about ensuring safety and justice for all affected individuals.
