Mumbai On Dry Days Alert: Liquor Shops Closed For 3 Days Starting Tomorrow
Mumbai will observe dry days from May 18 to May 20 due to the fifth phase of the Lok Sabha elections scheduled for May 20, 2024. As per the directive, bars and wine shops in Mumbai will be closed from 5:00 PM on May 18 until 5:00 PM on May 20. This measure aims to maintain public order during the election period.

Key constituencies in Maharashtra, including Mumbai, Palghar, Kalyan, and Thane, will go to the polls in this phase. The Election Commission of India (ECI) has mandated that dry days be observed in the constituencies where voting will occur, as well as in the adjacent constituencies.
Mumbai will also observe another dry day on June 4, when the counting of votes will take place, lasting until the results are announced.
Additionally, dry days will be observed in Haryana's Gurugram and the Delhi NCR region from 6:00 PM on May 23 to 6:00 PM on May 25. In Kolkata, dry days will be in effect from 6:00 PM on May 18 until the conclusion of polling on May 20.
Previously, Pune, Shirur, and Maval parliamentary constituencies in Maharashtra declared dry days in polling areas on May 13.
