Mumbai: MNS Workers Attack Businessman Sushil Kedia's Office, 5 Detained
Mumbai Police have arrested five members of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) for damaging the Worli office of businessman Sushil Kedia. The incident is believed to be linked to Kedia's recent comments about MNS leader Raj Thackeray, made during a heated debate on the Marathi language in Maharashtra.
After the attack, Kedia shared a statement saying he regretted his earlier remarks. "I was under stress and made the tweet in a disturbed state of mind," he said. He also claimed that his words were being twisted to create more controversy. Kedia explained that he had reacted emotionally after seeing non-Marathi speakers being mistreated.

Despite the backlash, Kedia praised Raj Thackeray for supporting Hindutva and Indian values. He also said Marathi should be promoted with a positive approach. "If people are encouraged with love and respect, they will be more willing to learn Marathi," he said.
Meanwhile, Union Minister Chirag Paswan spoke out strongly against an earlier attack in Thane over language issues. He said India should not be divided by language, region, or religion. "We must live together with mutual respect," he added.
Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis also responded, promising tough action against anyone using violence in the name of promoting language. "The government will not tolerate such attacks," he said.
The incident has sparked fresh debate about how to promote local languages while ensuring peace and unity among people from different backgrounds.
