Mumbai Metro 3 Cuffe Parade Station First Look: Sleek Design, Photos Inside

The Mumbai Metro-3, also known as the Aqua Line, is gearing up to start operations, linking South Mumbai with the suburbs. The Cuffe Parade station is fully prepared and showcases modern interiors. Stunning images of the station were shared on Instagram by @mumbaimetro3, with a caption highlighting the upcoming arrival of the metro in South Mumbai for the first time.

The Metro-3 route will feature several stations including Science Museum, Mahalaxmi, Mumbai Central, Grant Road, Girgaon, Kalbadevi, CSMT, Hutatma Chowk, Churchgate, Vidhan Bhavan, and Cuffe Parade. Previously opened was a 9.8-km segment from BKC to Worli with six stations: Dharavi, Shitaladevi Temple, Dadar, Siddhivinayak Temple, Worli, and Acharya Atre Chowk (Worli Naka).

Seamless Connectivity Across Mumbai

Commuters from Kalbadevi can travel efficiently to BKC by boarding at Kalbadevi station and passing through stations like Dharavi and Worli. Those from Borivli West can take Metro-2A to Andheri West and transfer to Metro-1 at DN Nagar towards Ghatkopar before switching to underground Metro-3 at Marol Naka for destinations like BKC or Colaba.

Travelers from Dahisar East have a convenient route via Metro-7 to Gundavli. They can switch to Metro-1 at Western Express Highway station and use Metro-3 from Marol Naka for southern destinations. Smooth interchanges are facilitated through foot overbridges.

Enhanced Travel Experience

Passengers traveling from Ghatkopar to Cuffe Parade can use Metro Line 1 from Ghatkopar to Marol Naka. After exiting the station and walking externally for about 500 metres, they can enter Metro-3 to continue underground towards Cuffe Parade. This connectivity significantly enhances travel efficiency across the city.

The Prime Minister's inauguration of the 10.99-km section from Worli to Cuffe Parade will drastically reduce travel time across Mumbai. Commuters will be able to reach Aarey to Colaba in just one hour. The stretch between Worli and Cuffe Parade will take only 15 minutes while BKC to Worli will be covered in 13–15 minutes.

Metro Expansion Benefits

This expansion offers a seamless journey through key city hubs. The earlier phase included a 12.69-km stretch from BKC to Aarey Colony with ten stations such as Bandra Colony and Santacruz. It also includes Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport Terminals 1 and 2 among others.

The new metro line aims to save commuters between 45–60 minutes compared to road travel times. With its sleek design and efficient routes, it promises an improved commuting experience for residents across western, central, and southern Mumbai.

The completion of this metro line marks a significant milestone in enhancing public transport infrastructure in Mumbai. It not only provides faster travel but also connects major business districts with residential areas seamlessly.
