Mumbai Local Train Services Update: 12 Special Trains To Run On New Year’s Eve

On the eve of the New Year, the railways will operate 12 special suburban local services to ensure smooth travel for passengers celebrating the occasion. Of these, Western Railway will run eight services, while Central Railway will run four services, all scheduled after midnight on Tuesday, according to a Hindustan Times report.

The special trains will stop at all suburban stations, making travel more accessible for passengers. Vineet Abhishek, the Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, explained in the same report that eight services will operate between Churchgate and Virar stations.

Mumbai Local Train Services Update

Out of these, four services will be heading towards Virar, and the remaining four will be heading towards Churchgate. The Virar-bound services will depart from Churchgate at 1:15 am, 2:00 am, 2:30 am, and 3:25 am. The Churchgate-bound services from Virar will leave at 12:15 am, 12:45 am, 1:40 am, and 3:05 am.

In addition, Central Railway will operate four special trains. These will run between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) and Kalyan on the main line, and between CSMT and Panvel on the Harbour Line. The trains on both these routes will depart from their starting stations at 1:30 am.

These special services are designed to accommodate the increased number of passengers and ensure they can travel comfortably during the New Year celebrations.
