Mumbai Local Train Services: Special Trains Announced Across Mumbai, Ratnagiri & Kudal For Ganpati Festival

The Central Railway has introduced a series of special trains to ensure that devotees travelling during the Ganpati festival in Mumbai can do so with ease and convenience. These Ganpati special trains will operate from September 1 to 18, catering to the increased passenger demand during the festive period.

The railway administration has designed these services to cover popular routes where heavy footfall is expected, aiming to offer smooth and comfortable travel for all commuters.

One of the main highlights of the service is the daily operation of unreserved special trains between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) and Kudal, as well as between CSMT and Sawantwadi Road. These trains will run in both directions throughout the entire festival, making it easier for devotees to reach their destinations without facing long wait times or overcrowding. Additionally, there will be daily trains from CSMT to Ratnagiri and from Ratnagiri back to CSMT during the same period.

In order to further manage the flow of passengers, weekly services have also been scheduled. Trains will run from Lokmanya Tilak Terminus to Kudal every Tuesday, specifically on September 3, 10, and 17. The return service from Kudal to Lokmanya Tilak Terminus will also operate on the same dates. Furthermore, there will be daily trains from Diva to Chiplun and back, running from September 1 to 18.

To accommodate even more passengers, Central Railway has also scheduled additional services on certain weekends. Trains will run from Lokmanya Tilak to Ratnagiri on Fridays and Saturdays, covering September 6, 7, 13, and 14. The return service from Ratnagiri to Lokmanya Tilak will operate on Saturdays and Sundays, specifically on September 7, 8, 14, and 15. Special trains will also run from Panvel to Ratnagiri on Sundays, September 8 and 15, with the return service operating on September 7 and 14.

These special train services are aimed at helping devotees enjoy their Ganpati celebrations without the hassle of transportation issues.
