Mumbai Local Train Services Block: CSMT To Masjid Station Affected Reconstruction Work; Check Routes & Timings

On the night of January 25, a six-hour block was scheduled to take place between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) and Masjid station for the reconstruction of the Karnak Bridge. However, the work could not be completed within the allotted time. The scheduled activities were interrupted due to an unfortunate accident where a labourer working on the project sustained an injury. As a result, the work was halted, and the planned subsequent block was cancelled.

To make up for the lost time and to ensure the smooth progress of the reconstruction, an emergency block will be implemented today, Wednesday. This block will take place from 12:30 AM to 3:30 AM between CSMT and Masjid stations. The block will impact several suburban train services, causing temporary disruptions in the usual schedule.

Suburban Train Services

Main Line: Suburban services on the main line will not be available between CSMT and Byculla stations, as well as between Wadala Road and CSMT on the Harbour Line. However, suburban services will continue to run between Kurla, Parel, Dadar, and Byculla stations. Trains will stop and depart at these stations as normal, but will not be running along the affected route.

Harbour Line: On the Harbour Line, up-and-down suburban services will operate only between Wadala Road and CSMT stations. All services on this route will stop and depart from Wadala Road.

Commuters are advised to plan their travel carefully, as these changes will likely cause delays during the specified hours. The railway authorities have urged passengers to remain patient while the emergency reconstruction work is carried out. The work is necessary to maintain and improve the overall safety and efficiency of the railway infrastructure.
