Mumbai Local Trains: Wadala To Mankhurd Harbour Line Closed For 14.5 Hours – Details

Mumbai's lifeline, the suburban local train network, will face a major disruption this weekend as Central and Western Railways have announced jumbo blocks for essential maintenance and infrastructure work.

Harbour Line Block

A new railway line is being laid between Kurla and Tilaknagar stations on the Harbour Line. For this work, a special 14.5-hour block will be implemented between Wadala Road and Mankhurd stations.

• Duration: From 11:05 pm on Saturday to 1:35 pm on Sunday.
• Impact: Local train services on both up and down routes between Wadala Road and Mankhurd will remain completely shut.
• Last services before block: Panvel-CSMT local at 9:52 pm and CSMT-Vashi-Belapur-Panvel local at 10:14 pm.
• First services after block: Panvel-CSMT local at 1:09 pm on Sunday, and CSMT-Panvel local at 1:30 pm.

To ease passenger movement, a special local train will operate between Mankhurd and Panvel during the block period.

Central Railway Block

• Location: 5th and 6th railway lines between Thane and Kalyan stations.
• Time: Sunday, September 14, from 9 am to 1 pm.
• Impact: Several Mail and Express trains will be delayed by 10-15 minutes. Trains affected include Pune-CSMT Sinhagad Express, Hazur Sahib Nanded-CSMT Rajya Rani Express, Deccan Queen, Mangaluru Junction-CSMT Express, Patna-LTT Express, Kakinada-LTT Express, Pragati Express, Sevagram Express, Chennai-CSMT Express, Solapur-CSMT Vande Bharat Express, Banaras-LTT Express, Howrah-CSMT Express, Hatia-LTT Express, Coimbatore-LTT Express, Koyna Express, Godan Express, Jayanagar Express, and Netravati Express, among others.

Western Railway Block

• Location: Between Borivali and Goregaon stations.
• Time: Sunday midnight to 4:30 am.
• Impact: Trains on the Up Slow Line between Borivali and Andheri will be diverted to the Up Fast Line, skipping Ram Mandir station. Some Up and Down trains will face cancellations or short terminations. No daytime block will be implemented on Sunday.

The railway authorities have urged commuters to plan their travel accordingly as the jumbo blocks are likely to cause delays and crowding on alternate routes.
