Mumbai-Goa Highway Update: Toll Booths To Be Phased Out, Travel Time To Be Cut By June

In a major boost for travellers, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has confirmed that the much-awaited Mumbai-Goa highway will be completed by June this year, as reported by Times Now. The new road is expected to significantly reduce travel time and improve connectivity for commuters heading to the Konkan region.

At a recent event organised by Amar Hind Mandal in Dadar, Union Minister Gadkari also announced plans for a nationwide overhaul of toll collection systems. Physical booths will be phased out, with a new toll policy set to be introduced within the next 15 days.

Mumbai-Goa Highway Update

Union Minister Gadkari assured that despite several challenges during construction, the Mumbai-Goa highway will be fully operational by June. The project, which has faced numerous obstacles, is expected to provide a major boost to the development of the Konkan region.

"The completion of the Mumbai-Goa highway will ease traffic flow and help with regional growth," said Union Minister Gadkari, acknowledging the difficulties that had delayed the project. He also highlighted that ongoing infrastructure projects, such as the Delhi-Jaipur and Mumbai-Goa highways, had faced similar challenges.

In addition, Union Minister Gadkari promised improvements in India's road infrastructure, claiming that in two years, the country's road network will be better than that of the United States. The new toll system, which will use automatic deductions from bank accounts via satellite tracking and vehicle number plate recognition, will eliminate the need for manual toll booths and ease travel across the country.

This development marks a key step in improving transportation in India and is expected to benefit millions of travellers in the coming months.
