Mumbai-Goa Highway Megablock: Alternate Routes Advised During Pui Mysdara Bridge Construction
Travellers planning to use the Mumbai-Goa highway should be aware of an upcoming disruption. The ongoing construction work on the Pui Mysdara bridge near Kolad will necessitate a two-day megablock on this vital highway route, starting today.
The highway will be closed for four hours each day, from 12 noon to 4 pm, both today (Thursday) and tomorrow (Friday). This closure is required for the installation of iron girders on the bridge, according to Superintendent of Police Arvind Salvi.

Previously, a three-day block was implemented from July 13 to 15, and now another disruption is scheduled due to ongoing construction activities. Motorists are urged by the police to utilize alternative routes during this period.
The decision to conduct daytime work has raised concerns among passengers, who have suggested that girder installation be carried out at night to minimize traffic disruption. Nighttime traffic is typically lighter, making it a preferable option for such critical construction tasks.
For those needing alternative routes during the megablock:
1. Travelers heading to Konkan from Mumbai should use Pali Mangaonmarg.
2. Those traveling from Konkan to Mumbai can opt for Mangaon-Nizampur-Pali-Khopoli, via Roha Nagothane.
3. Travellers going from Mumbai to Goa are advised to take the route via Wakan-Pali-Nizampur-Mangaon.
