Mumbai-Goa Highway Latest Update: Key Developments To Ease Travel For Ganeshotsav

As Ganeshotsav approaches on August 31, a surge of the Konkani community is heading towards Konkan. For many, the Mumbai-Goa highway is a crucial route for reaching their destinations. Recently, there have been significant updates regarding the completion of this vital highway, which will likely make the journey smoother for the travellers.

According to Saam TV, Public Works Minister Ravindra Chavan has announced a new deadline for the completion of the Mumbai-Goa highway. He has assured that the highway, which has seen delays due to incomplete work, will be finalised before Ganeshotsav. Currently, some parallel roads and bridge projects in Ratnagiri are still pending. Minister Chavan has confirmed that strict instructions have been issued to ensure these tasks are completed on time.

Both Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Union Roads Minister Nitin Gadkari have taken an active interest in this matter. Their involvement underscores the commitment to ensuring that the influx of Ganeshotsav pilgrims can travel without encountering major disruptions. The officials are prioritising the resolution of existing issues to facilitate smooth travel for the festival.

In addition to the highway completion, CM Shinde has issued specific directives to address road quality concerns. He has emphasised the importance of making the Mumbai-Goa highway pothole-free ahead of Ganeshotsav. Measures are being taken to reinforce the bypass and service roads along the highway to ensure a smoother drive. CM Shinde is also scheduled to inspect the ongoing work on the highway after August 10 to ensure all improvements are on track.

These efforts reflect a concerted push by state and central authorities to enhance road infrastructure in time for the festival, aiming to provide a hassle-free journey for all travellers heading to Konkan.
