Mumbai Crime: 40-Year-Old Teacher Sexually Assaults Student
A 40-year-old English teacher from a famous Mumbai school is now in police custody. She is accused of sexually abusing a 16-year-old boy who was her student. The abuse went on for about a year.
The teacher is married and has children of her own. Police have charged her under special laws that protect children from sexual crimes.

How It All Started
The trouble began in December 2023. The teacher and student were working together to organize a dance group for the school's yearly celebration. During this time, the teacher became attracted to the boy.
In January 2024, she started making sexual advances toward him. The student felt uncomfortable and tried to stay away from her.
The Friend Who Helped
When the student avoided her, the teacher asked a female friend for help. This friend doesn't work at the school, but she approached the boy anyway.
The friend told the student that relationships between older women and teenage boys are "normal these days." She convinced him that he and his teacher were "meant to be together."
The Abuse Begins
After being convinced by the friend, the student agreed to meet the teacher. She picked him up in her car and drove to a quiet place where no one could see them. There, she forced him to undress and sexually assaulted him.
When the boy felt worried and scared afterward, the teacher gave him medicine for anxiety.
The teacher would give the boy alcohol to make him drunk. Then she would take him to expensive hotels in South Mumbai and near the airport, where she forced him to do sexual acts.
How the Family Found Out
The boy's family started noticing that he was acting differently. They questioned him and eventually found out what was happening.
Even after the student finished his 12th grade exams this year, the teacher didn't stop. She sent her house servant to contact him again. This scared the family so much that they finally went to the police.
What the Police Are Doing
The police have filed serious charges against both the teacher and her friend. The teacher's car has been taken by police as evidence.
The family admits they didn't want to report this at first. They hoped it would stop once their son graduated. But when the teacher tried to contact him again through her servant, they knew they had to act.
Why This Matters
This case shows that:
- Teachers have a responsibility to protect their students, not harm them
- Boys can be victims of sexual abuse too
- It's important for families to report these crimes, even when it feels difficult
- The law takes these cases very seriously, especially when a teacher abuses their position
The student is now getting support, and the legal process will continue to ensure justice is served.
