Mumbai: 'Bomb Under Seat' Claim By A Passenger Delays Indigo Flight

A delay ensued for an IndiGo flight from Mumbai to Lucknow, on Friday, when an assertion was made by a man during the ongoing boarding process, stating that a bomb had been planted under his seat.

According to Mumbai police reports, the individual raised the claim, and it pertained to a Lucknow-bound IndiGo flight.

Indigo Bomb Scare In Mumbai

During the late hours of January 26th, an incident transpired on Indigo flight number 6E 5264 from Mumbai to Lucknow. It was reported by the Mumbai police that a passenger boarding the flight claimed that there was a bomb under his seat, leading to a comprehensive inspection of the aircraft, reported ANI.

Upon receipt of information about the incident, the spot was reached and investigated by Mumbai police and airport agencies. The investigation yielded no discovery of any suspicious object, as per ANI reports.

The 27-year-old passenger was subsequently detained by Mumbai police, and a case was registered against him under sections 506(2) and 505(1)(B) of the Indian Penal Code. Mumbai police stated, "Police are investigating why he did this."
