Mumbai Boat Accident Video: Footage Shows Speedboat Crashing Into Ferry, Killing One Person
Unverified footage shows a speedboat carrying four men zig-zagging through the sea off the Mumbai coast before suddenly veering toward a ferry and ramming into it. The ferry, which was carrying 80 passengers, was left in distress, with the collision resulting in one fatality, four people in critical condition, and five others reported missing.
The shocking incident was captured on camera from the ferry, and the footage surfaced over two hours after the crash occurred. The video shows the speedboat's erratic movements before the deadly impact.

The ferry, which had departed from the Gateway of India and was heading to Elephanta Island, began tilting towards the water after the collision. Initial reports suggested that the ferry was sinking, though the exact cause of the capsizing remains unclear.
As the rescue operation continues, several passengers were seen wearing life jackets and being rescued by emergency teams. The Indian Navy and Coast Guard mobilized quickly, deploying 11 navy boats, three Marine Police boats, and one Coast Guard vessel. Four helicopters were also involved in the search and rescue efforts.
In addition to the rescue teams, police personnel, Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority workers, and local fishermen joined the operation to help save the remaining passengers.
Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation informed that there were a total of 85 passengers on board including the crew, out of which 80 people have been rescued so far and 5 people are missing.
The Elephanta Caves, a popular tourist attraction located on Elephanta Island, are usually accessible by public ferries from the Gateway of India. Authorities are continuing to work to ensure the safety of those affected by the incident.
