Mumbai Airport On High Alert After Bomb Threat
On a recent Wednesday afternoon, the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai was rocked by an alarming call to the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) control room. The unknown caller issued a bomb threat, claiming a passenger named Mohammad was en route from Mumbai to Azerbaijan, armed with explosives. This unsettling news prompted an immediate reaction from the CISF, who quickly informed the Sahar Police Station, leading to rapid deployment of officers to conduct a meticulous investigation at the airport.
In the wake of this disturbing call, which ended abruptly around 3 PM without the provision of specific flight details, authorities have ramped up security measures at the airport. They're diligently working to trace the origin of the call while also cross-checking passenger information to safeguard against any potential threats. This development is part of a broader pattern of hoax bomb threats that have plagued Indian airlines and airports in recent weeks, causing widespread concern and disruption.

Adding to the complexity of the situation is the arrest of a 35-year-old man from Maharashtra's Gondia by the Nagpur Police, approximately two weeks prior to this incident. Identified as Jagdish Uikey, this individual is alleged to have been responsible for a series of hoax bomb threats that had previously sown panic, led to delays in flights, and necessitated enhanced security measures at various airports and establishments. Uikey, an author of a book on terrorism who also has a prior arrest record from a 2021 case, was apprehended after investigations traced the hoax emails back to him.
