'Modi hai toh…’: Fadnavis’ First Reaction After Huge Victory In Maharashtra Elections
As the BJP-led Mahayuti alliance nears a landslide victory in Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis expressed his gratitude to the voters for their support. He further added, "Ek hai toh safe hai, Modi hai toh...", emphasizing the alliance's strong position.
At the time of writing, the Mahayuti alliance was leading in 219 of the 288 assembly seats, solidifying its chances of retaining power. Meanwhile, the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) was struggling, with candidates leading in only 56 seats, according to the Election Commission. Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, along with his deputies Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar, were leading in their respective constituencies during the first round of vote counting.

Vote counting began at 8 am on Saturday, with all eyes on the battle between the ruling BJP-led Mahayuti coalition and the MVA alliance. The voter turnout in the November 20 elections was 66.05%, a notable increase from 61.1% in 2019. The Mahayuti alliance included the BJP, contesting 149 seats, Shiv Sena with 81, and the Ajit Pawar-led NCP, which fielded candidates in 59 constituencies.
