Missing minor girl found dead at resort terrace in Lonavala
Lonavala, Feb 18: A 7-year-old girl, who went missing during a wedding function on Sunday, was found dead at the terrace of a resort in Lonavala, Maharashtra on Tuesday afternoon.
According to media reports, the missing girl's body was discovered under a solar panel on the terrace of the Kumar resort.
The girl, a student of Class II had gone missing around 9.30 pm when she attended a wedding on Sunday, Feb 15th at the resort and her partially decomposed body was found draped in a bed-sheet, with her throat slit with a sharp weapon.
After a frantic search, her parents, who hail from Mangaon in Raigad district had filed a missing complaint of their daughter on Monday morning.
It is being suspected that the girl was raped before being brutally murdered, as her undergarments were reportedly missing, The Asian Age reported.
The police has booked a case under IPC section 302 (murder).
Her body has been sent for post-mortem and the report is awaited to ascertain the cause behind her death.
Angry protesters pelted stones at the resort, following which it has been temporarily closed.
