Declared Dead After a Heart Attack

On December 16, Pandurang Ulpe, a resident of Kasaba-Bawada in Kolhapur, experienced a heart attack. He was rushed to a private hospital where doctors pronounced him dead. His family, devastated by the news, began preparations for his last rites as his body was being transported home in an ambulance.

A Twist of Fate

During the journey home, the ambulance passed over a speed breaker, which reportedly jolted Ulpe's body. To the shock of his grieving family, they noticed movement in his fingers. "When we were bringing his body home from the hospital, the ambulance passed over a speed breaker, and we noticed movement in his fingers," his wife recounted.

Realizing he was alive, the family immediately diverted the ambulance to another hospital.

Recovery and Medical Attention

Ulpe was admitted to the second hospital, where doctors confirmed he was alive. He underwent an angioplasty and remained under observation for two weeks. On Monday, he walked back home, leaving neighbors and relatives astounded by his extraordinary recovery.

Ulpe Recalls the Incident

Narrating his experience, Ulpe said, "I had come home from a walk, sipped tea, and then felt dizzy and breathless. I went to the bathroom and vomited. After that, I don't remember anything, including how I ended up in the hospital."

No Comment from the First Hospital

The private hospital that initially declared Ulpe dead has yet to issue a statement regarding the incident.

This astonishing event has not only become the talk of Kolhapur but also highlights the importance of second opinions in critical medical cases. For Ulpe and his family, what started as a tragedy turned into an unexpected second chance at life.
