Major Route Changes In Kalyan-Dombivli Till Dec 21; Thane Police Announce Diversions

Thane Police have issued major traffic diversions across the Kalyan-Dombivli region due to ongoing replacement work on the main water pipeline under the 12th water supply scheme at Kolegaon in Dombivli East. As per the official notification, traffic movement on the Kolegaon Square-Premier Ground-Kalyan Shil Road stretch will remain affected until December 21.

Duration of Restrictions

The diversions will remain in force from 12 am on December 9 until 1 am on December 21. During this period, all vehicles travelling from Kolegaon Chowk towards Premier Maidan and Kalyan Shil Gate will be prohibited from using the route and will be stopped at Kolegaon Chowk.

Alternate Route: These vehicles must use the Badlapur Pipeline route to reach Rohane Katai Badlapur Chowk before proceeding to their destination.

Additionally, vehicle entry from Kolegaon towards Kolegaon Chowk will be halted near the Shiv Sena branch in Kolegaon.

Alternate Route: Affected traffic will be redirected from Premier Maidan towards the Hanhat area via Kalyan Shil Road.

Dombivli Water Cut

Separately, a 15-hour water shutdown has been announced for December 9 due to maintenance on the city's water network. The supply will remain suspended from 9 am until midnight, impacting several areas in both Dombivli East and West, according to News18 Marathi. The scheduled work includes replacing the filter bed outlet pipeline at the Netivli Water Purification Centre and undertaking repairs within the Dombivli division's distribution network.
