Majiwada Flyover News: Night Closures Until 20 April For Metro Work—Check Alternative Routes

The Majiwada Flyover in Thane will remain closed during the night for a period of 15 days due to ongoing metro construction work, according to a Times Now report. The closure started on April 5 and will continue every night until April 20. As per the traffic notice, the flyover will be shut between 10 PM and 5 AM each day.

The Thane City Police have issued a traffic advisory informing the public about this temporary closure. The purpose of the closure is to allow construction work for the new Majiwada Metro Station. During this time, support columns for the station will be built. After that, jack beams will be installed, and then rafters will be placed to support the roof structure of the metro station.

This construction work is part of the larger metro project aimed at improving transport facilities in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. The area where the work is taking place falls under the Kapurwadi Traffic Subdivision. The authorities believe the metro line will help reduce traffic and offer better public transport in the long run.

During the night-time closure, vehicles travelling from Mumbai to Nashik and those heading towards Ghodbunder via the Majiwada Flyover will not be allowed to pass.

To help regular commuters, the police have suggested alternative routes. Motorists are advised to use the Eastern Express Highway and Ghodbunder Road instead of the flyover during these hours.

For two-wheeler riders, a service road near Jupiter Hospital and Golden Park has been opened for use during the closure period.

People are also encouraged to follow the Thane Traffic Police on social media for real-time updates and any changes in the traffic plan.
