Mahayuti Govt Will Be Formed Again In Maharashtra: Amit Shah in Sangli
Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday expressed confidence in the Mahayuti alliance's victory in the upcoming elections.
Speaking at a rally in Sangli, he urged voters to trust Prime Minister Narendra Modi and former Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis for Maharashtra's progress. "Listen up, Sangli! Voting is on November 20, and the counting is on the 23rd. A Mahayuti government is going to be formed in Maharashtra. This government, under the leadership of Narendra Modi and Devendra Fadnavis, will be built on the trust that the people of Maharashtra have placed in them, and the NDA will come to power here. The excitement is palpable even in Sangli!" ANI quoted Shah as saying.

Shah praised Modi's leadership for elevating India's economy from 11th to 5th globally. He projected India would become the third-largest economy by 2027. Highlighting economic achievements, he emphasised that Modi's governance has significantly boosted India's global standing.
The Home Minister highlighted several development initiatives under Modi's administration. These include a Rs 10,15,900 crore allocation for Maharashtra projects like Asia's largest port in Wadwan and a new airport in Sangli. Railway electrification and two Vande Bharat trains were also mentioned as part of infrastructure advancements.
Shah criticised Congress for allegedly dividing the nation along caste lines. He questioned their stance on Jammu and Kashmir, particularly regarding Article 370. "Tell me about Kashmir, does it belong to us or not? Article 370 was removed, is it good or bad?" he asked. He asserted that Congress's promise to restore Article 370 was unrealistic.
Contrasting security measures between NDA and UPA tenures, Shah claimed Congress failed during its rule with frequent terrorist attacks. "In your (UPA) government, there were regular terrorist attacks. When the BJP was in power, within 10 days, surgical and air strikes were carried out. Modi ji has made our country a safe place," he said.
He also addressed Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's alleged disrespect towards the Constitution by holding a blank booklet. "Rahul Gandhi, you have disrespected the Constitution and Baba Saheb Ambedkar," Shah stated.
Shah assured continued support for farmers by announcing tax removal on sugar and Rs 15,000 crore allocated for agricultural welfare by Modi. A Haldi Board branch opening in Sangli was also promised. Under current governance, farmers receive Rs 12,000 annually; this could rise to Rs 15,000 if Mahayuti wins.
The assembly elections are set for November 20 with results expected on November 23 across all 288 constituencies. The opposition MVA coalition aims to regain control from Mahayuti alliance comprising Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena, BJP and Ajit Pawar-led NCP.
Shah mentioned healthcare benefits under Ayushman Bharat scheme with an additional Rs 5 lakh coverage for senior citizens if Mahayuti is elected again.
The construction of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya was another point Shah addressed: "In Ayodhya should Ram Mandir have been built or not? Congress was obstructing it for last 75 years." He credited Modi's leadership post-2019 election victory for implementing court judgment allowing temple construction.
