Maharashtra Weather Today: Yellow Alert Issued! Will Your Evening Plans Be Ruined? Find Out Lakes Level

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for several regions, indicating the possibility of thunderstorms, lightning, and moderate rainfall. These weather conditions are expected to be accompanied by gusty winds, ranging between 30 to 40 kilometres per hour, at isolated locations.

The areas under the yellow alert include Thane, Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Nasik, Ahmednagar, Pune, Kolhapur, Sangli, Latur and Osmanabad.

Mumbai Weather Today

Today, the weather in Mumbai will see temperatures ranging between 25 and 33 degrees Celsius. You can expect rain or thundershowers likely towards the evening or night. The day will remain mostly clear during the early hours, but weather conditions could change later.

Mumbai Weather Forecast

October 7: Temperatures will rise slightly, ranging from 25 to 35 degrees Celsius. Rain or thundershowers are expected again towards the evening or night.

October 8: A warm day with temperatures between 26 and 35 degrees Celsius. Rain or thundershowers may occur later in the evening or night.

October 9: The day will see temperatures ranging from 27 to 34 degrees Celsius. Similar weather conditions with rain or thundershowers are expected by the evening or night.

October 10: Slight relief from rain, with a partly cloudy sky throughout the day. Temperatures will range between 27 and 34 degrees Celsius.

October 11: The weather will remain partly cloudy, with temperatures varying from 26 to 33 degrees Celsius.

Mumbai Lakes Water Level

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) announced on Saturday morning that the water levels in Mumbai's seven reservoirs, which provide drinking water to the city, have reached 99.30 per cent of their total capacity. According to the BMC, the combined water stock of the Mumbai lakes currently stands at 14,37,255 million litres, which is 99.30 per cent of their full capacity.

Mumbai's water supply comes from Upper and Middle Vaitarna, Bhatsa, Tansa, Vihar, Tulsi, and Modak Sagar lakes.

As per the BMC's latest data:

Tansa has 98.93 per cent of its water capacity.
Modak Sagar holds 99.35 per cent of its water.
Middle Vaitarna stands at 99.30 per cent.
Upper Vaitarna is full at 100 per cent.
Bhatsa has 99.12 per cent of its water stock.
Both Vihar and Tulsi lakes are also almost full, with Vihar at 100 per cent and Tulsi at 99.25 per cent.

These high levels ensure a steady water supply for the city.
