Maharashtra Weather Today: IMD Predicts Heavy Rainfall In Maharashtra On June 28; No Yellow Alert For Mumbai
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted moderate to heavy to very heavy rainfall in Maharashtra on June 28. In Mumbai, the maximum temperature is expected to reach 32 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature will likely be around 25 degrees Celsius. The city will experience a cloudy sky accompanied by moderate rainfall.
Mumbai Weather Forecast For The Next Five Days

June in Mumbai is typically characterised by high temperatures ranging from 28 degrees Celsius to 31 degrees Celsius. The month sees frequent rainfall, with an average of 15 to 22 rainy days, consistent with the city's tropical monsoon climate. This period of heavy precipitation is expected to continue, providing both relief and challenges to the residents of Mumbai.
The IMD has provided the following weather forecast for Mumbai over the next five days:
- June 29: Minimum temperature of 25 degrees Celsius, maximum of 33 degrees Celsius, cloudy sky with moderate rain.
- June 30: Minimum temperature of 25 degrees Celsius, maximum of 32 degrees Celsius, cloudy sky with moderate rain.
- July 1: Minimum temperature of 24 degrees Celsius, maximum of 31 degrees Celsius, cloudy sky with moderate rain.
- July 2 and 3: Minimum temperature of 24 degrees Celsius, maximum of 31 degrees Celsius, with rain expected.
Maharashtra Weather Forecast
The IMD predicts that there is a possibility of more than average rainfall in most parts of Maharashtra. The 'El Nino' condition may remain neutral in the initial phase. But in the second phase of monsoon i.e. in July or August, 'La Nina' condition is likely to occur. The Meteorological Department has clarified that the La Nina conditions are favourable for this year's monsoon in the country.
IMD Issues Yellow Alert
Yellow alerts have been issued for the districts of Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Pune, and Satara, predicting heavy rainfall at isolated places. Additionally, yellow alerts have been issued for Amravati, Bhandara, Chandrapur, Gadchiroli, Nagpur, Wardha, and Yavatmal, which are expected to experience thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds (30-40 kilometres per hour) at isolated places.

The conditions are likely to become favourable for the further advance of the Southwest Monsoon into the remaining parts of the North Arabian Sea, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, more parts of Rajasthan, the remaining parts of Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Bihar, most parts of East Uttar Pradesh, more parts of West Uttar Pradesh, some parts of Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad, northern Punjab, and northern Haryana over the next two to three days.
