Central Government Greenlights Vadhavan Port Project, Aims For Top 10 Global Ranking
Maharashtra has received a significant gift from the central government. Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced that the Vadhavan port project has been approved. He said this project will set a new benchmark for Maharashtra's progress.
Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, the Union Cabinet has approved the development of an all-weather greenfield deep-draft major port at Barwan. Fadnavis expressed his gratitude for this approval.

Fadnavis stated that once completed, this port will be among the top 10 ports in the world. The total cost of this project is estimated to be ₹76,220 crores. This development is expected to generate about 10 lakh new employment opportunities.
The construction of this historic port under PM Gati Shakti in Palghar will boost economic growth and create jobs for millions of people.
