Maharashtra: Shiv Seva Uddhav Thackeray Releases List Of Candidates For Lok Sabha Elections 2024

Maharashtra: For the upcoming Lok Sabha elections 2024, Shiv Seva Uddhav Thackeray group on Wednesday released its first list of candidates comprising 17 names. According to the reports, the list of candidates was prepared by several rounds of churning with party and alliance partner officials.

As per the announcement, Shiv Sena (UBT) has fielded Sanjay Dina Patil from Mumbai North East, Arvind Sawant from Mumbai South, and Amol Kirtikar to contest from Mumbai North West. While, Rajan Vichare and Vinayak Raut have been given tickets from Thane and Ratnagiri Sindhudurg constituencies, respectively.

Maharashtra's 48 Lok Sabha seats, the second highest after Uttar Pradesh's 80, will go under polling in five phases starting from April 19. In the first phase of elections, 5 seats of the financial capital will vote to elect its representatives.

Sitting MPs Sanjay Jadhav have been picked to contest from the Parbhani and Omraje Nimbalkar will place the bet from Osmanabad.

The party will also contest Aurangabad, fielding former MP Chandrakant Khaire from the seat.

The names of the candidates were shared by senior Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut on X. He said "With the blessings of Shiv Sena chief Balasaheb Thackeray and the order of Shiv Sena party chief Mr. Uddhavji Thackeray, here's the list of 17 Lok Sabha candidates."

It is expected that Maha Vikas Aghadi (Opposition's alliance in Maharashtra)'s other partner Vanchit Bahujan Aaghadi (VBA)-led by Prakash Ambedkar, who is also the great-grandson of Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar, will announce its candidates today for Maharashtra Lok Sabha elections 2024.

MVA has allotted around 9 Lok Sabha seats to VBA, according to the reports. Prakash Ambedkar's will contest the elections from Akola constituency, while Sajay Kevat has been given a ticket from Bhadara.
