Maharashtra Police to Enhance Operations with Artificial Intelligence

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced that Artificial Intelligence (AI) will be introduced in the Maharashtra Police. The Indian Institute of Management (IIM)-Nagpur worked with the government to prepare a report on AI's potential in policing. The report showed how AI can make police systems more effective.

Fadnavis said AI could detect crimes and predict situations. It will be implemented soon, and a government company will be created for this purpose. AI will analyse behaviour and crime patterns to improve police efficiency and solve traffic management issues. Cybercrime data will also be studied to address traffic problems.

AI Boost for Maharashtra Police Efficiency

Specific modules will be developed for different units of the Maharashtra Police. On police recruitment, Fadnavis mentioned that the Model Code of Conduct for the upcoming October Assembly elections might delay the ongoing recruitment process. Candidates may lose a chance due to age limits.

He assured that new dates would be announced for physical tests affected by rains. Exams will proceed as scheduled in areas not affected by rains. Fadnavis also instructed that proper accommodation should be arranged for candidates during this period.
