Maharashtra: Manjula Gavit Eyes Second Victory In Sakri Assembly Election
Manjula Gavit is gearing up for a hopeful second victory in the Sakri Assembly Constituency of Maharashtra's Dhule district, known for its tribal population. This constituency has seen a flurry of development activities under Gavit's guidance over the past five years. The forthcoming Maharashtra Assembly Election 2024 sees him as a formidable contender, having been re-nominated by Eknath Shinde, the current Chief Minister. Gavit's commitment to the constituency's growth, especially through educational and healthcare initiatives, has significantly boosted his public image.
In the 2019 elections, Gavit contested as an independent candidate and emerged victorious. His journey in politics saw a pivotal moment when he supported Eknath Shinde during the latter's revolt within the Shiv Sena in 2022, a move that eventually led to Shinde taking over as Maharashtra's Chief Minister. The political upheaval saw Uddhav Thackeray's position being compromised, with 40 Shiv Sena MLAs, including Gavit, aligning with Shinde. This allegiance saw Gavit formally joining Shiv Sena under Shinde's leadership, securing his candidacy for Sakri once more.

Impactful Development Initiatives
During his tenure, Gavit has prioritized the enhancement of educational infrastructure in Sakri, focusing on the needs of the Kala Adivasis and the remotest areas. His efforts resulted in the allocation of 16 acres of land for the establishment of the Eklavya Residential English Medium School, operated by the Tribal Society of India. Furthermore, he has been instrumental in the digitalization of education, alongside improvements in the infrastructure of local education centers.
Gavit's dedication to healthcare led to the establishment of primary health centers near Ghode and Nawapada, along with the ongoing construction of a rural hospital at Jaitana. This hospital is set to provide extensive medical services, ranging from fifteen to one hundred beds. In addition to healthcare and education, Gavit has also focused on irrigation and infrastructure, completing projects that have significantly reduced travel distances and enhanced agricultural practices.
Building Strong Community Relations
Gavit's successful tenure is not solely attributed to infrastructure and healthcare improvements but also to his strong network of activists within the Sakri Assembly Constituency. His efforts in implementing the Chief Minister Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana have been particularly noteworthy, registering over 63,000 women from the constituency. This widespread participation highlights the scheme's success and Gavit's ability to leverage such initiatives for the betterment of his constituency.
Despite facing challenges from Congress and rebel candidates, Gavit's extensive work in the past five years positions him as a strong candidate in the upcoming elections. His focus on development, coupled with efficient governance, has not only garnered public support but also solidified his re-nomination by Eknath Shinde. As the elections approach, there is a growing consensus that Gavit's record of development and community engagement will be pivotal in securing his victory.
In conclusion, Manjula Gavit's strategic focus on development, particularly in education, healthcare, and infrastructure, combined with his commitment to improving the lives of his constituents, makes him a formidable candidate for re-election in Sakri. His ability to mobilize a strong support base, along with the successful implementation of welfare schemes, underscores the potential for his continued leadership in fostering the growth and development of the Sakri Assembly Constituency.
