Maharashtra Inaugurates Its First Silk Centre In Hiraj To Support Farmers
The Eknath Shinde government in Maharashtra is working to improve the lives of all citizens. A new initiative has been launched for farmers growing mulberry for silk production. The government has opened Maharashtra's first silk buying, selling, and processing centre in Hiraj, Solapur district.
Chandrakant Patil, a Maharashtra government minister, inaugurated the centre. He mentioned that mulberry is a profitable crop that needs little water and can be grown all year round. Mulberry farming is increasing in Solapur and nearby areas.

The government is running many schemes to boost the silk industry. Minister Patil urged farmers to use these opportunities to improve their economy through silk production.
