Maharashtra Govt Announces State Funeral For Slain NCP Leader Baba Siddique
Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has announced a state funeral for former minister and NCP leader Baba Siddique, who was shot dead outside his son's office in Bandra, Mumbai, on Saturday.
Siddique had held the position of Minister of State for various departments between 2004 and 2008, and also served as President of the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA).

The Delhi Police will be sending a special investigation team to Mumbai to probe Siddique's murder.

The Mumbai Police are also investigating potential involvement of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, due to Siddique's close association with actor Salman Khan, who has previously been targeted by the gang.
